Bereits zu der Zeit, als ich - und mit mir viele von uns - noch in einer Partei organisiert waren, habe ich wesentlich Mechanismen der klassischen Wahlkampftaktiken kritisiert.

Ich vertrete nach wie vor die Auffassung, dass der Wahlkampf in der Form, wie er gemeinhin praktiziert wird, unnötig viele Ressourcen verbraucht. Bei der Linkspartei waren dies bis zu 20% der Einnahmen (und annähernd 80% wurden für die allgemeine Geschäftsführung verwendet - Für politische Projekte blieb kaum etwas). Ihr dürft nicht vergessen: Jeder Euro, den wir im Wahlkampf verwenden, der hätte auch in konkrete politische Projekte gesteckt werden können. Das stärkste Argument für uns während der Wahl kann nicht die Menge Geld sein, die wir aufbringen, um uns un der Wahl zu beteiligen:
Das muss die konsequente politische Arbeit sein, die wir in den vorangegangenen Jahren geleistet haben.
Das müssen die Erfolge sein, die wir errungen haben.
Das müssen die Fehler sein, die wir aufgedeckt haben.
Das muss die Zustimmung zu unserer fundamentalen Kritik an den herrschenden Verhältnissen in unseren Städten und dem Kreis.

All das kann man nicht auf den Wahlkampf konzentrieren - Insbesondere darf man es nicht auf ihn reduzieren. Fortgesetzt müssen wir bemüht sein, unsere Anliegen und Themen in der Öffentlichkeit bekannt zu machen. Nur dann sind wir keine Wählergemeinschaft (oder Partei) wie jede andere.

Deswegen sage ich: Wir führen immer Wahlkampf! Unsere Politik ist das, wofür wir von den Menschen gewählt werden wollen.

Vielleicht kann man es so als Motto für unsere Wahlkampfplanung zusammenfassen: Keine Versprechungen - Ergebnisse!

Und ergänzend noch: Es wird ein Vorteil für uns sein, wenn während der Kommunalwahl kein überregionaler Wahlkampf stattfindet. Dann können die großen Parteien nämlich nicht von Synergie-Effekten durch die Präsenz in landesweiten Medien profitieren. Zumal diese überregionalen Positionierungen nicht die geringste Aussagekraft über Haltung, Position und Leistung einer lokalen Parteistruktur haben. Beste Beispiele sind hier die SPD Radevormwald oder DIE LINKE Oberberg, die im politischen Alltag Positionen einnehmen, die im offenen Gegensatz zur Politik ihrer Bundesverbände stehen. Wenn sie denn arbeiten, was bei beiden so nicht ohne Weiteres vorausgesetzt werden sollte.

Die SPD Radevormwald hat ihren letzten wirklich eigenen Antrag im Rat, soweit ich weiß, 2008 gestellt. Was DIE LINKE Oberberg im Kreistag genau treibt, darüber liegen nicht einmal uns konkrete Erkenntnisse vor.
