Joe Bonamassa gilt schon jetzt unter den Bluesrock-Gitarristen als eine lebende Legende. Mit zwolf Jahren spielte er bereits mit B.B. King. Mit 14 grundete er mit Erin Davis, einem Sohn von Miles Davis, eine Band. Im Jahr 2000 entstand sein erstes Soloalbum. Es folgten weitere, von denen nicht wenige Platz 1 in den amerikanischen Billboard-Blues-Charts erreichten.
Punktlich um 20 Uhr startete ein knapp zweieinhalb Stunden dauerndes Musikspektakel, bestehend aus dem fettem Sound der „7 Magnificent“-Band, mit Original Hammondorgel, Bass, Schlagzeug, zwei Blasern und zwei gro?artigen Background-Sangerinnen.
Dazu naturlich Bonamassas unverwechselbare Solo-Gitarre, auf der der Maestro ein ums andere Mal bluesige Dialoge mit den ubrigen Mitmusikern lieferte. Jeder war mal dran, und jeder hatte merklich Freude am Zusammenspiel.
Selbst der fette Eintrittspreis zwischen 100 und 150 Euro hielt so manchen Gitarren-Kollegen aus der Gegend nicht davon ab, sich dieses Mega-Event entgehen zu lassen. Welches Stuck ihm am besten gefallen hat, beantwortete „Starlight Excess“-Gitarrist Guido Focke so: „Ich kenne die Namen der einzelnen Stucke gar nicht.
Fur mich ist einfach die Art, wie Bonamassa musiziert, einzigartig und mitrei?end.“ Damit durfte Focke die Stimmung der meisten im Publikum ziemlich genau getroffen zu haben.
Ein kleiner Wink Bonamassas gegen Ende des Konzertes genugte, und schon stromte das Publikum nach vorne vor die Buhne. Bonamassa genoss sichtlich den engen Kontakt mit den Fans. Immer wieder kam er an den Buhnenrand und lie? sich und die Band feiern. Ein Abend der absoluten Extraklasse.

An seinem 40. Geburtstag feiert Joe Bonamassa mit seinen Fans im Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. In dieser grandiosen Klangarena beweist er wieder einmal, warum er derzeit einer der besten Gitarristen der Welt ist. Dabei adaptiert er 2017 auch fur ihn ungewohnliche Coversongs wie von Led Zeppelin.
Seit mehreren Jahren ist Joe Bonamassa regelma?ig auf Tour. Bei langfristiger Betrachtung zeigen sich interessante Aspekte. Ein Teil der Setlist halt der Gitarrist uber langere Zeit konstant, wahrend er andere Teile komplett austauscht und so immer neue Akzente setzt.
Im Vergleich mit dem Konzert in Frankfurt 2016 ist der Anfang fast identisch. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf den eigenen Songs aus dem aktuellen Studioalbum "Blues Of Desperation".

Ebenso spielen die Bluessongs von Albert King und B.B. King wieder eine dominante Rolle, wahrend Freddie King diesmal nicht berucksichtigt wird. Dafur geht Joe Bonamassa nun einen neuen Weg. Seine Coverhits stammen sonst meist von anderen Bluesmusikern wie Muddy Waters oder Howlin Wolf.

Das Zusammenspiel zwischen Gitarre und Bass ist auch das Highlight des zweiten Songs "Mountain Climbing". Die beiden Backgroundsangerinnen setzen in die Lucken zwischen den Gitarrenparts ihren Soulgesang als Gegenpart. Die Gitarre von Joe Bonamassa drohnt wuchtig im Zweiertakt durch das Festspielhaus.

Das perfekte Wechselspiel zwischen laut und leise zeigt Joe Bonamassa bei "Blues Of Desperation". Zunachst lasst er seine Gitarre rohren, wahrend seine Blaser Lee Thornburg an der Trompete und Paulie Cerra am Saxophon voll druber blasen. Dann wird Bonamassa ganz leise und singt dazu, wobei seine Stimme in den leisen Gitarrenteilen besonders einpragsam ist. Dazwischen jagt er seine Gitarre aber immer wieder hoch. Schon jetzt applaudieren die Zuschauer lautstark.
Der nachste Song "No Good Place For The Lonely" wird dann aber zum richtigen Kracher. Das grandiose Akustikspektakel von Joe Bonamassa und seiner Band ist wie gemacht fur das Festspielhaus. Man hort unter dem Gesang jeden gespielten Ton, jedes Instrument kommt zur Geltung. Das Keyboard halt die Grundmelodie. Joe Bonamassa powert seine Sequenzen an der Gitarre daruber. Seine Finger fliegen in Hochstgeschwindigkeit uber die Saiten.

Due to overwhelming demand, Paul McCartney has added a second show at Tinley Park's Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre to his "One on One" tour, scheduled for July 26.

New Jersey is getting a double dose of Sir Paul McCartney in September.
McCartney, 74, has added four more shows in New Jersey and New York to his 2017 One On One tour, due to "overwhelming demand."
The Beatle will play the Prudential Center in Newark on Sept. 12, Madison Square Garden in New York on Sept. 17, the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sept. 21 and NYCB LIVE's Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale on Sept. 27.
McCartney is already scheduled to play at the Prudential Center on Sept. 11, Madison Square Garden on Sept. 15, the Barclays Center on Sept. 19 and the Coliseum in Sept. 26.
Tickets to the newly booked shows will go on sale soon. More details will be released by PaulMcCartney.com and The Bowery Presents. Tickets for the original dates went on sale Friday at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster.
McCartney last played in New Jersey last August, with a marathon three-hour set at MetLife Stadium. That show saw the rocker play a variety of hits and deep cuts from his nearly 60-year career.
The 2017 stretch of Paul McCartney's One On One tour kicks off on July 5 at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami.

The official summer lineup for the Citi Concert Series on TODAY is out, and Billboard has the scoop. It all starts bright and early on Tuesday morning (May 9), when Harry Styles will give just his second-ever live solo performance on Rockefeller Plaza (his first was on Saturday Night Live).
“We’ve gotten a record number of fan pass submissions,” Brittany Schreiber, TODAY’s music booking producer since 2014, tells Billboard about the upcoming set from Styles. The pop singer is an ideal artist to kick off the summer concert series, Schreiber says, and the show has been chasing him since news first broke that his solo album was on the way.
“We’re always looking for artists who are launching big tours, who have albums coming out, and who across the board are making news and who have big things coming,” she explains.
Schreiber explains how those guidelines made artists like Miley Cyrus -- she cites the return of Cyrus in the recent Billboard cover story -- Camila Cabello and Bruno Mars, among many others, great gets. “I’ve been working on Bruno Mars since I walked through the doors as the music booker,” Schreiber admits. “I have a picture of him on my bulletin board as a 2017 goal.”
Styles kicks off the 22nd summer of Plaza concerts with the TODAY show, though he previously performed with One Direction in 2012 for the band’s national television debut and returned with the group twice more. The British heartthrob's 1D band mate Niall Horan is also slated to perform, as are Shania Twain, Charlie Puth, Ed Sheeran, Flo Rida while Chris Stapleton and Hailee Steinfeld will deliver their first-ever TODAY show performances.

Walking on water, levitating into the air — Harry Styles is either auditioning to be Marvel's next superhero or in a new biblical epic in his new music video for Sign of the Times.
Filmed on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, the clip for Styles' elegiac single sees the singer soaring above lush oceanside landscapes before walking across the water.
Will Banks, the video's stunt pilot, told Billboard that the video's epic shots were created without the help of green screens or CGI effects.

The bookings for the 2017 Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series at Harveys Lake Tahoe are wrapping up with the addition of Linkin Park and Eric Church.
Alternative rock group Linkin Park takes the outdoor stage first with a performance on Friday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. The concert comes as part of the group's One More Light World Tour, named after their upcoming release "One More Light," which drops May 19.
"The 'One More Light World Tour' set list will combine the biggest hits of Linkin Park's expansive career, as well as material from the new album, with all the intense high energy and passion the band is known for," states a press release from Harrah's & Harveys Lake Tahoe.
"Our fans know how much love we put into our live show," guitarist Brad Delson said. "They know how much we enjoy the connection when we play a fan favorite on stage. The emotional and sonic content of this new batch of songs is going to bring a whole new dimension to the show."
Machine Gun Kelly joins Linkin Park for the gig, which kicks off an action-packed Labor Day weekend that also includes two performances from country star Eric Church on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2-3.
"When Eric Church's 2017 Holdin' My Own Tour launched in January, the 62-stop tour encompassing 40+ states and provinces in less than five months promised to give fans everything in Church's arsenal," states a press release from Harrah's & Harveys Lake Tahoe.
The artist is known for songs including "Springsteen," "Drink In My Hand" and "Record Year." Supporting acts for Church's concerts are yet to be announced.
Tickets for Linkin Park's concert — which begin at $69.50, plus tax and fees — go on sale to the public on Friday, May 12, at 10 a.m. Tickets for both Church gigs go on sale to the public on Friday, May 19, at 10 a.m. and also start at $69.50, plus tax and fees.
All Lake Tahoe Summer Concert Series tickets are sold online via Ticketmaster.

Linkin Park are taking their upcoming One More Light album on the road this summer, as they just announced a major North American tour! The band will be joined by special guest Machine Gun Kelly.
The trek kicks off on July 27 in Boston before heading to various cities like Detroit, Montreal and Dallas before wrapping things up in Los Angeles on October 22.
Linkin Park Fan Club (LPU) members can register right now for pre-sale tickets here, which begins on May 9. The general public tickets open up on May 12.
The cool thing about the sales is that one dollar from every ticket sold will benefit Music For Relief, the charity foundation Linkin Park founded in 2005 to aid survivors of natural disasters and environmental protection.

Linkin Park is gearing up to get back on the road for the band’s first tour since 2015. Following news blasts for dates in the U.K., Germany and Japan, today the band announced gigs for the North American portion of the “One More Light World Tour.”
The trek is named after the rockers’ seventh studio album. One More Light is due out May 19 via Warner Bros. Records. The project is described as Linkin Park’s most personal to date, “built on the stories of six voices coming clean about their lives and struggles.” The LP features guest appearances from Pusha T, Stormzy and Kiiara.

After a run of festival dates and headline shows in Europe, Linkin Park kicks off the North American portion of the tour with a July 27 gig in Mansfield, Mass., at the Xfinity Center.
The tour will bring Linkin to Tampa, Houston, Dallas, Seattle, Las Vegas, Fresno and other fine cities in the U.S.A. Canadian cities getting a visit from the band include Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
The last confirmed stop in the States is Oct. 22 at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl – although the band promises that gigs in New York and Pennsylvania will be announced later on.
The excursion features special guest Machine Gun Kelly, whose third studio album, bloom, is due out May 12. Japan’s One OK Rock joins the tour in Boston, Philadelphia and Uncasville, Conn.
The Linkin Park Presale starts May 9, powered by Ticketmaster Verified Fan. Fans can register for the presale now.
An announcement from Linkin Park explains that the presale “will utilize unique fan-first technology to level the playing field and ensure fans compete against other fans for tickets – not software. Tickets go on sale to the general public May 12.

Украинские власти запретили въезд в страну аккредитованным на "Евровидение" российским журналистам, которые ранее бывали на территории Крыма, сообщил на своей странице в Facebook советник главы МВД Украины Антон Геращенко. Первый пошел! Обратно на север, по проторенной Лолитой Милявской дорожке", - заявил Геращенко.
Представитель МВД также добавил, что доказательства своего пребывания на территории Крыма Ситдиков предоставил пограничникам самостоятельно, фактически "задокументировав самого себя".
О том, что российского фотокорреспондента, аккредитованного на "Евровидение", не пустили на Украину, накануне сообщил глава объединенной дирекции фотоинформации Александр Штоль. "Нашего фотографа "завернули" из Киева. На границе взяли документы, удалились куда-то и через примерно один час принесли постановление об отказе во въезде. Украинские пограничники не пустили на "Евровидение" в Киев еще пару российских журналисток, побывавших в Крыму. Об этом на странице в Facebook сообщил спикер Госпогранслужбы Олег Слободян. Накануне по той же причине на Украину не впустили фотокорреспондента МИА "Россия сегодня" Рамиля Ситдикова.
Слободян не назвал имена либо издания, где работают не прошедшие границу журналистки. Он подчеркнул, что они ранее посещали Крым через "временно закрытые пункты пропуска". Украина считает полуостров оккупированной территорией и настаивает, что посещать его можно лишь с украинской территории через пункты пропуска в Херсонской области.
Теперь двум журналисткам запрещен въезд на Украину в течение трех лет.
"Госпогранслужба отмечает, что наличие аккредитации на "Евровидение" не является документом, который дает право для пересечения границы. При принятии решений Госпогранслужба совместно с СБУ и Национальной полицией руководствуются исключительно интересами и законодательством Украины", - цитирует Слободяна "Интерфакс".
Ранее представитель МВД Украины Антон Геращенко заявил, что на границе не будут пропускать журналистов, посещавших Крым, несмотря на полученную от организаторов "Евровидения" аккредитацию.

Germany’s defence minister has come under fire after a series of scandals in the armed forces involving sexual harassment, bullying and a far-right plot for a racially motivated terror attack.
Ursula von der Leyen, often tipped as a successor to Angela Merkel, on Wednesday said she bore “responsibility for everything that happens in the Bundeswehr”, Germany’s armed forces, after initially blaming weak army leadership.
“It is my responsibility to remedy abuses we know about, which I am currently doing,” she told the tabloid Bild.
She has called for in-depth investigations to deal with the cases.
The most prominent scandal involves a 28-year-old soldier identified as Franco A, who was arrested a week ago on suspicion of planning an attack thought to be targeting asylum seekers and leftwing politicians, including the Social Democrat interior minister, Heiko Maas, and the former German president Joachim Gauck. A 24-year-old student in possession of explosives was also detained.
The soldier registered as a Syrian refugee last January, applied for asylum and was drawing money from the state. It is believed he planned to carry out the attack and leave a trail to his fake identity.
A defence ministry spokesman said Von der Leyen had cancelled a trip to New York and Washington DC to focus on the Franco A investigation. She had been due to meet with UN officials to discuss the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine, as well as her US counterpart, James Mattis.
The Social Democrats, Merkel’s junior coalition partner, have stopped short of calling for the minister’s resignation, but their candidate for chancellor, Martin Schulz, said Von der Leyen could not evade responsibility.

At least 36 people, including supporters and opponents of the government, have been killed in more than a month of unrest triggered by Maduro’s efforts to consolidate his rule.
“I raise my voice against violence. I raise my voice against any form of repression. Nothing justifies bloodshed,” Dudamel wrote in a Facebook post.
“I urgently call on the president of the republic and the national government to rectify and listen to the voice of the Venezuelan people. Times cannot be defined by the blood of our people.
“It is time to listen to the people: Enough is enough.”
Dudamel, the director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, had until now largely avoided speaking out about the economic, social and political crisis rocking his country. He has served as a poster boy for the acclaimed music education program El Sistema, which is credited with taking music to hundreds of thousands of children, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Dudamel’s statement came a day after Armando Canizales, 17, was killed during clashes between protesters and the national guard.
Canizales, who played the violin in an El Sistema orchestra, died after being shot in the neck. Footage of the incident shows the youngster wearing a motorcycle helmet and gas mask, before a line of national guards in riot gear.
Dudamel does not mention Canizales in his statement, but the child’s name is emblazoned across a black heading above the post.
Because El Sistema is largely funded by the Venezuelan government, many have accused Dudamel of being complacent with a government that is increasingly being perceived as authoritarian.
His silence in the face of deteriorating conditions in Venezuela has earned him the anger and scorn of those who oppose Maduro. They accuse the conductor of failing to use his international prominence to push for change.
In his statement, Dudamel urged political leaders to stop the violence, but also directed much of his criticism at Maduro’s decision this week to convoke a constituent assembly to rewrite the country’s constitution.

Fatima Charrihi, 59, a Muslim grandmother, was the first of 86 people to be killed in a terrorist attack in Nice last summer when a lorry driver ploughed into crowds watching Bastille Day fireworks. Macron has insisted that Le Pen still represents “the party of hatred”. He told a Paris rally this week: “I won’t accept people being insulted just because they believe in Islam.” After more than 230 people were killed in terrorist attacks in France in just over two years, Le Pen has called Islamic fundamentalism a “mortal danger” for France and accused Macron of having an “indulgent attitude” towards it. He accused her of dividing France and stoking “civil war”.
Rada, who was in regular contact with Martinez via satellite phone from his home in British Columbia, said the 37-year-old was in her tent on Monday morning when she heard what she described as a tremendous roar. “She didn’t know it was an earthquake. She thought the glacier she was on was collapsing,” said Rada. “The whole ground around her was shaking and moved a lot. She was pretty scared.”
